The system is comprised of two parts:
CMU - The CMU controls the PFT’s balloons activity, inflating and deflating them, keeping the correct (ongoing balance between efficacy & safety) amount of pressure at all times.
PFT - The disposable portion of the system functions as an NG tube having three inflatable balloons in a row situated close to the sphincter. After insertion, the three balloons inflate (one, at a time), thereby sealing off the esophagus preventing reflux from rising. The peristaltic tube, in addition to its blockage capabilities, is used as continuous esophagus motion sensor, with self adjustment algorithm that makes the optimal 24/7 balance between max efficacy and optimal safety pressures on internal esophagus tissues.
When liquids coming down the esophagus (such as saliva), the PFT’s peristaltic mechanism “pushes” the liquid down into the stomach while at the same time prohibiting stomach content from rising up.

The smart next PFT generation that will be furbished with a forth distal balloon, will used us a massive reflux episodes sensor and will be able utilize as an unexpected vomiting content blockage so eliminate the movement of such content towards the respiratory system.
